So my quesiton will be
"Do the failure in the interior and architecture of a hotel have any impacts to the customers while the hotel is providing a good services at the same time? If yes, What are the negative and positive impacts"

Actually, this is kind of a funny question. a good service but failure in interior and asking the positive and negative impacts. :p
ReplyDeleteI guess i'll answer it anyway as i have to answer it for my class participation marks. :p
So, a failure in an interior of a hotel definitely has an impact on the customer regardless how good the service is as the customer who is staying in the hotel doesn't only look at the good service but they also look at the ambience of the hotel.
In my opinion, it depends on how bad the interior is. Is it like not macthing with the themes of the hotel or is it like the spooky type of hotel? If it's the spooky type of hotel, maybe it has a positive side in it as some people are weird these days as they like to see some spooky spooky things. Some people may see the failure in interior as unique, you can mention the Pisa tower,it's definitely unique.
The negative side will be, *still wondering and thinking* :p
Ok, let us count, how many hotels in Jakarta who has a good interior and a good service? Four Seasons is one, JW Marriot is next, Hotel Mulia is another one, not to forget the Ritz Carlton.
Why will a customer stay at a failure interior hotel with a good service while they can stay at hotels where the interior is fine and the service is excellent?
hmm..tough one tiff..but a good one as well..haha..for me..i think that the interior and architect of a hotel has some impact to the guests' stay even though the service was amazing.there are two factors in a guests' stay which is tangible and intangible.then again, each customer has a different opinion to what makes them satisfied with their stay at a hotel.i would say that a majority of the guest would come back to a certain hotel even though the infrastructure of the hotel is not that appealing because they are satisfied with the service. because its not just the interior and structure/architect of a hotel that makes them want to go back, but also the service. but it will be a different matter if both service and design of the hotel is bad, then it wont bring the customers back. but i would say that a hotel with a poor interior and structure will only gain its customer through recommendations from other guests, because passers-by would most likely not be interested in saying in that certain hotel due to their poor design.

ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, the SERVICE IS NUMBER ONE PRIORITY. In the Hotel industry we are just selling rooms and foods, but we are also selling service to the guests. Interiors or infrastructure just an adding point in the hotel.
No matter what we as hotelier MUST emphasize to the SERVICE instead of the premises.
I would say the interior is necessary in the hotel industry. The service is important but the interiors are also important. These two element are bound together and can't be separated. That's why,I will feel inconvenience if there is maintenance. Even though service in the hotel industry is important, the premises are important as well.
ReplyDeletenice! this kind of out-of-the-box question tiff.. in my point of view, this case it's kind of dilemma. On one side, service is the most essential part of the hotel has to offer however the infrastructure or the interior of the hotel needs to be put more attention on it. Usually, the guests will reckon the hotel from the exterior at first and interior after that, therefore it's an important issue for the hotel manager to maintain the look of the hotel both exterior and interior. In addition, well-maintained interior will boost the satisfaction of the guests to stay in the hotel. Furthermore, service and hotel interior are two parts that inseparable. It supports one and another to increase the hotel revenue and positive feedback from the guests.
ReplyDeletei think,every hotel has to offer good service to the customers. because good exterior would be good and touch the guests,if the hotel give some good behavior and good service to the customers. So, in my mind, there is no negative impact.
ReplyDeleteOf course there is impact for hotels with good services but poor infrastructure and architectural design. I think there are 2 consequences for these kind of hotels: (1) the good services being provided by them would be marginalized and overlooked; people would rather pay more to get the same service quality with better ambience, and (2) unless these hotels start to dress up a little bit, then they are in danger of being driven out of business; as more and more people are preferring their competitors. You see, in my opinion, hotels can’t afford to be one-dimensional. What I meant is that a hotel cannot possibly let itself be very good at one aspect but poor in another.
ReplyDeleteHaving said that, I do not see any positive from the situation. Again, I suggest these hotels to renovate their look if they want to fill those empty rooms with guests.
in my opinion, there will be bad impact to the customers, because, we always need the ambiance, for example, we interesting to stay in the hotel that have a good ambiance and good service. if they fail to put the architecture design, they will failed to attract guest to the hotel.
ReplyDeleteFrom this case, we can see that the hotel is not perfecty build up. It have their interior and architectural factors failure. So, in order to cover this lackness, the hotel is trying to provide the excellent quality od service. As the question reffered to the positive and negative impact, I will try to bring up this matter to our attention. Let me start from the negative impact first, from what I think, the hotel will have bad reputation and rating, then the public will think that this hotel is poor and theyot going to stay definetelly, and for the physical, it will not look appealing, attractive, and poor. While for the positive impcat, alhtough there only for the minority of people, this kind of poor design and high quality of service, is somehow considered to the unique hotel, as service is more precious accorting to them. But, in order to satisfied the guests, the hotel should balance their service to e price also. So, I suggest that the hotel should know properly their guests chaeacteristics, check their competitors price and try to develop the new things that other hotek is not have. That is all from me. ReplyDeletewell, in my opinion i will say that architectural design is very essential for hotel,apart from the services. though the hotel offer an excellent and flawless service, but if the design is not really appealing still it will affect the guest's impression. creative and artistic interior will added more value to the guest's satisfaction as they will feel proud of it. let us see, the most obvious difference between luxurious hotel and limited service hotel is the design. why they are called luxurious hotels? because they are build in a very unique way, designed lavishly and decorated with luxurious items. it is important though. the negative impact is, people may feel uncomfortable and less satisfied. moreover, sometimes guest took a picture at the hotel's lobby or somewhere in the hotel and show it to others. it will be bad if the hotel has a poor failure in the interior.
ReplyDeleteThe failure in the interior or architecture of a hotel will of course have some impacts to the customers although the hotel is providing a good service at the same time. Services is the most crucial thing that every's hotel need to concern and provide. Services grades everything, however if the design is not attractive, this will affect the number of guests coming to the hotel. Customers' loyalty will also be affected and a bad reputation for the hotel could happened. If the design and the architecture is well done and the services is excellent at the same time, the guests will then feel satisfied, proud and this is what we called as a 'luxurious' hotel. A hotel industry needs to monitor and see every small details in order to attract more guests to stay over.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, hotel should have an excellent service and great interior design. Honestly, when at first we come into the hotel, the first sight what we see is the interior and architecture right? If from the first the customer has seen the bad design of the hotel, I think customer will be not interested to come to our hotel. So, interior and architecture of the hotel is very important, even though the hotel has a very nice service, but if it has a bad design, some customers will not like it. Hotel has a good service is a MUST, every hotel should give a good service to their customers, but it will be better if the hotel has an excellent design and service. it's my opinion :)
ReplyDeletein my opinion the hotel should have a nice interior though service at hotels are great but the situation inside the hotel is also very decisive customer convenience. Honestly, when myself want to stay at new hotel which I never visited before I had wondered whether the hotel's interiors there good or bad. so everyone else would feel the same.
ReplyDeleteNowadays the physical look of the hotel, such as the interior is just as important as the service. They just complete each other really, I don't think anyone would fancy the idea of going to a hotel where they get good service but then the place is a mess, the interior's dusty and aged. The design a hotel is as important as the service because it shows that when a hotel has luxurious interior, they pay attention to details and the guests would really appreciate it.
ReplyDeletei do think the failure in the interior and architecture have the good impacts to the customer. for example when we about to check-in in a hotel, once we see the stunning interior it makes us believe that the service will be as good as the hotel. and it's true that the guests would be really appreciate it if the hotel organize the architecture inside the building. but still the service supposed to be the first thing that attracts the guest to stay in the hotel and would love to come back again. but sometimes the guest won't bother to check whether the service is good or bad because of the stunning interior. so in the end both interior and the service must be equally attract the guest
ReplyDeletewell i feel like it does have a great impact to the customers. because first of all, many customers will be attracted to the interior and the architecture of the hotel. that will be the first main attraction. if the hotel has a great architecture and interior design, the customers will feel like they have to see it with there own eyes. second, customers would want to stay in a hotel where the hotels architecture is right. especially in the rooms, they have to have enough space for the customer to be comfortable. and for the interior of the hotel, the ambiance and has to be able to make the customer feel more relaxed. and the interior design and the architecture definitely helps the customers feel like the service is better, because they are already comfortable.

ReplyDeleteAs I said before both of them are essential and I think a good hotel has to provide good interior and service at the same time. It is also depending on how the people judge and experience it.. probably some of the people will look in a positive way such as good services instead of the interior and architecture but it would be so nice if the hotel can be developed by both of them.

It true that the itnerior plays an important role in the hotel. interiors and services and be view as balance in a hotel since without a good interior, the guest will not feel comfortable. However the guest might feel comfortable with the good services provided, yet they would also judge the interiors which would bring to a balance in the overall hotel. However, this could be very dangerous if a guest would judge a hotel by its design first and then its services. People will lose their mood or excitment in staying in that certain failure interior hotel and this can be dangerous as well for the hotel. Overall, the interiors and the services are something that cannot be separated in judging a hotel.
